Sainsbury’s Bank colleagues in Edinburgh have chosen Bobath Scotland as their charity of the year for 2016/17!
With a history of being creative and enthusiastic charity supporters, the team in Lochside are focused and ready to help in a variety of ways. Their fundraising efforts this year will go directly to children with cerebral palsy and their families – making sure they get the specialist therapy they need from Bobath Scotland. This includes support from physiotherapists, occupational, and speech & language therapists when they need it most. This therapy can help children with cerebral palsy and their families to make life better every day by making the most of their abilities.
It’s the difference between sitting in a wheelchair and walking, being silent or being able to share needs and choices, or struggling at work or school instead of finding comfortable, stronger postures that allow a child with CP to be pain free and concentrate on the task at hand.
None of this would be possible without committed partners like Sainsbury’s Bank. The partnership will also help Bobath Scotland to tell more people about cerebral palsy, the impact it has on individuals and family life, and what you can do to be a great friend or colleague for someone with CP.
To launch our charity partnership, members of our fundraising team spent a fantastic morning with Bank colleagues helping at their cake and candy stall. Colleagues were either selling or buying home-baking while taking time out to talk to us about Bobath. With a calendar already filled with exciting fundraising events, we look forward to supporting them with all of their efforts. And hopefully Bobath Scotland will get the chance to welcome some of their colleagues to our own events.
