Training for Education Professionals

Introductory Course For Classroom Assistants

We offer informative and practical courses for classroom assistants/support staff with the focus on:

  • Understanding cerebral palsy and its associated disorders
  • Principles of positioning and the use of equipment
  • Ideas on safe and effective moving and handling of children with cerebral palsy
  • Assisting children with function in a classroom context
  • Mealtime assistance & ensuring safety in eating and drinking
  • Assistance & facilitation techniques when a child uses an augmentative and/or alternative means of communication

The teaching method is through lectures, live or video demonstrations and practical sessions.

Visitor Mornings

Visitors mornings are offered to any person or group who is interested in seeing and hearing what we do at Bobath Scotland. We attempt to have these mornings once in every 6-week therapy block throughout the year.

The mornings involve the following:

  • An introduction to cerebral palsy and the Bobath concept
  • Joining a child's session
  • Post session discussion/questions & answer

All Visitors Mornings commence at 09h30 and finish at approximately 12h30
