At Bobath, we provide a range of services to help children with cerebral palsy make the most of their abilities and reach their full potential. Children’s therapy is available for any person up to 18 years of age who lives in Scotland and who has a primary diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
We offer intensive therapy blocks which take place over the course of six weeks, and involve parents, carers and family members to ensure that treatment is carried over into everyday life. We can also provide regular therapy sessions. For information on funding therapy at Bobath, please see our guidance on funding.
We also run a range of groups for children and young adults that are fully funded:
Therapy is delivered at our cerebral palsy therapy centre in Glasgow, by our team of highly trained specialists. Bobath involves a trans-disciplinary approach that includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy, and the main aim is to encourage and increase a person’s ability to move and function in as normal a way as possible. With the intervention of Bobath therapy we help the person to change their abnormal postures and movements so that they are able to comfortably adapt to their environment and develop a better quality of functional skills.
